The Great Wealth Exodus
The Great Wealth Exodus
Dear Reader,
Politicians are arrogant.
They talk tough. They make demands. They act like they own you.
Until the bill comes due.
Take Kathy Hochul. Back in 2022, she was running for governor of New York. She wanted to sound strong. She wanted to pander to her base.
So, she told Donald Trump and his supporters to leave.
"Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong," she said. "Get out of town. Because you don’t represent our values."
It was a stupid thing to say.
The Math Always Wins
My rich dad taught me a simple rule: Money goes where it is treated best.
Hochul thought she was just insulting her political opponents. She didn't realize she was insulting the people who pay the bills.
So, what happened?
People took her advice.
It wasn't just Republicans. It wasn't just billionaires. It was regular, hard-working people.
They looked at their tax bills. They looked at the crime. They looked at the arrogant politicians.
And they left.
They packed up their U-Hauls and headed to Florida. They headed to Texas.
They headed to places with no state income tax. Places with sunshine and freedom.
The Panic Sets In
Now, Hochul is panicking.
She is running for reelection. And she has a massive problem. The tax base has "eroded."
That is politician-speak for: "We are running out of other people's money."
Now she wants to send officials down to Palm Beach. She wants to see who they can "bring back home."
It is pathetic.
Memo to the governor: They are not coming back.
People do not uproot their lives for fun. They leave because the system is broken.
They leave because they are tired of being treated like ATMs by greedy bureaucrats.
The Jamaica Warning
I have seen this movie before.
Back in the 1970s, I was a young man. I watched what happened in Jamaica.
Michael Manley was the socialist prime minister. He hated the rich. He hated business owners.
He told the people who didn't like his policies to leave.
"There are five flights a day to Miami," he said.
And guess what? They took those flights.
The doctors left. The lawyers left. The engineers left. The people with skills and ambition packed up and got out.
Did Jamaica thrive? No. The economy collapsed.
When you drive away the producers, you drive away the prosperity. It is a simple law of economics.
The $30 Minimum Wage Trap
Is New York the new Jamaica? Not yet.
But they are trying hard to get there.
Just look at their latest brilliant idea. New York City is considering raising the minimum wage to $30 an hour.
The politicians say it is about "fairness." They say no one should live in poverty.
It sounds nice. It is a great soundbite.
But it is economic suicide.
My rich dad taught me that you cannot legislate prosperity.
When you force businesses to pay
$30 an hour for entry-level work, the businesses do not just smile and pay it.
They adapt.
They cut hours. They raise prices. They replace workers with iPads and robots.
Or, they just close up shop and move to Florida.
Control Your Own Economy
The lesson here is simple.
You cannot trust politicians with your money. They will tax you to death, and when you leave, they will beg you to come back so they can tax you some more.
You have to take control.
Stop relying on the government. Stop relying on a job in a state that hates business.
Build your own personal economy. Acquire hard assets. Buy gold. Buy silver. Buy Bitcoin. Invest in real estate in states that respect your property rights.
The smart money is already moving.
Are you?
Get ready.
