Teleprompter Malfunction or System Failure?

Dear Reader,

Biden fumbled. Again.

This time, it was his teleprompter that betrayed him. Tuesday at the Brookings Institution, he was supposed to tout his economic "achievements." Instead, the 82-year-old president stammered through paper notes, blaming a power outage. Ten minutes in, and the leader of the free world was visibly flustered.

The same could be said for the state of America’s economy.

  • Teleprompter Trouble and an Aging President: Biden’s speech touting his economic record was derailed by a teleprompter glitch, leaving him fumbling with paper notes. Critics point to this as further evidence of cognitive decline—fuel for murmurs about invoking the 25th Amendment.

  • Economic "Achievements" Under Fire: While Biden claimed credit for reducing inflation and creating a “fairly strong economy,” his administration’s spending is blamed for sparking 40-year inflation highs. High-profile failures, like the $42.5 billion rural broadband rollout, highlight mismanagement.

  • Legacy in Question Amid Protests and Criticism: Protesters outside branded Biden as “Genocide Joe” over his stance on Israel. Inside, he coughed through a defense of his presidency, handing off his "progress" to the next administration. The question lingers: progress for whom?

Biden declared that the next administration—likely a Republican one—will inherit a “fairly strong economy.” Really? Tell that to the working and middle-class families still suffocating under sky-high grocery bills and housing costs. Or the rural Americans waiting for broadband access promised in Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure law. Three years in, $42.5 billion allocated, and not a single connection made.

Zero progress. Plenty of excuses.

Biden even had the audacity to compare high-speed internet to FDR’s electrification of rural America. Except FDR got results. Under Biden, the only thing electrified is the anger of taxpayers footing the bill for another bureaucratic boondoggle.

And what about inflation? Biden blames Putin, COVID-19, and even the planets aligning—anything but his administration’s reckless spending. Trillions flooded into the economy during his first year in office. The result? A 40-year inflationary high that crushed savings and made essentials unaffordable.

But don’t worry, Biden says. Inflation is “back to pre-pandemic levels.” Conveniently ignoring how his policies ignited the crisis in the first place.

Meanwhile, outside the venue, protesters were making their voices heard. “Genocide Joe,” they shouted, waving Palestinian flags and accusing him of fueling Israel’s military efforts. Inside, Biden coughed and wheezed, raising his voice to shout, “If we don’t lead the world, who will?”

Good question. Because under Biden, America isn't leading—it’s stumbling.

Whispers of the 25th Amendment grow louder with each misstep. Biden’s final act may not be voluntary. His legacy? A country in debt, a broadband promise broken, and an economy on life support.

Next time he says he’s “serious,” maybe we should all laugh.
