Dear Reader,
AMERICA VOTED ON TUESDAY. The Democrats swept Congress. They flipped the House. They took the Senate. The blue wave everyone said could not happen, happened. The headlines are calling it a historic repudiation. A mandate.
But here is what Bloomberg is not telling you: the debt clock never paused.
The United States owed $36 trillion when the polls opened. It still owes $36 trillion now that they closed. Congress changed parties. The bill did not.
Inside today's issue:
- The Blue Wave and the Red Ink: Voters turned against inflation. So they handed power to the party that helped create it. The irony runs deep. The deficit runs deeper.
- Elon Lost $250 Million. The Spending Won: Musk bet a quarter-billion dollars on Republican candidates and lost heavily. More importantly, the American voter just handed a spending majority to Washington. Again.
- The Empire Pattern: Rome did not collapse because barbarians came. It collapsed because politicians bought loyalty with money they did not have. We have seen this movie before. It ends the same way.
- Robert Kiyosaki — Perpetual Income Plan: While the market dips, P.I.P. keeps paying. 74 payouts a year from infrastructure that runs regardless of headlines.
THE FLIP
Voters went to the polls angry about grocery prices and rent. They were right to be angry. The average American family spends roughly $1,000 more per month than they did four years ago. That is real pain. That is not a talking point.
So they voted for change. I understand that instinct.
Here is what I want them to understand: the inflation they are angry about was bipartisan. Republicans spent $6 trillion on COVID relief. Democrats spent another $3 trillion after. The Federal Reserve printed money for both. The bill arrived addressed to everyone.
Changing who controls Congress does not change what is owed. It changes who gets to decide how to borrow the next trillion.
THE EVIDENCE
Here are the numbers that did not change on election night:
- US national debt: $36 trillion and climbing at roughly $1 trillion every 100 days.
- US inflation rate: 3.7% as of September 2026. That is still above the Fed target. That means your purchasing power is still shrinking.
- Federal Reserve rate: 4.00%. The Fed held in October. Two members voted to hike. The bond market is not convinced inflation is beaten.
- The DXY dollar index: 101.38 as of this morning. Down 0.18% from yesterday. Up 1.65% over 12 months. The dollar looks strong. For now.
- Elon Musk spent $250 million-plus on Republican races. Republicans still lost the House by 20+ seats. If that much money could not hold the line, something deeper is broken.
Here is the cycle call: I have been studying monetary history for 50 years. Every empire reaches this same crossroads. The citizens grow angry about rising costs. The politicians promise to fix it by spending more. The currency pays the price.
"The Democrats' decisive victory in the 2026 U.S. midterms does not change who's in the White House, but it will limit Trump's powers for the remainder of his term."
They call it limiting Trump's powers. I call it guaranteeing the spending machine keeps running. Trump wanted to cut. Now he cannot. Democrats want to spend. Now they can. Either way, the government gets bigger. Either way, the dollar gets smaller.
Here is the number that matters more than any vote count. America pays over $1 trillion a year just in interest on its existing debt. That is before anyone builds a road, pays a soldier, or sends a Social Security check. No matter who controls Congress, that bill arrives every single morning...

THE PLAY
...and the only escape hatch is assets the government cannot print.
Politicians have been debating currency and deficits for my entire adult life. I stopped debating and started buying. Gold when it was $300. Silver. Real estate. Hard assets that hold their value when paper money does not.
Here is what I think happens next: Democrats control Congress. Trump is in the White House. That combination means gridlock on cuts and no gridlock on spending. Continuing resolutions. Bigger deficits. The Federal Reserve stuck in a bind between fighting inflation and not crashing a government drowning in debt.
That environment has a name in monetary history. It is called "fiscal dominance." It is when the size of the debt forces the central bank to let inflation run. Assets that do not depend on the dollar win in that world. Assets that depend on the dollar lose.
The election is over. The debt is not. Position accordingly.
To your freedom,
