Editor's Note: Day 1 of Robert Kiyosaki's Countdown to Q-Day is out this morning. It opens with the strangest sell order of the year: one of the most famous investors on television dumping every Bitcoin he owned, on the record, and the single date his reasoning points to. The same date the CEO of IBM put a three-or-four-year clock on, and the one the big banks, the Pentagon, and Big Tech are quietly spending billions against. Day 1 names it and shows you the receipts. One click and the full briefing comes to you in order, starting now, nothing to fill out. Click here to save your spot at the Q-Day event and read today's briefing.

Dear Reader,

$40 TRILLION. That is the number nobody in Washington wants you to say out loud. As of October 2, 2026, the U.S. national debt officially crossed $40 trillion. Ten years ago, it was $20 trillion. They doubled it in a decade. And they are not done.

Inside today's issue:

  • The $40 Trillion Trap: The debt just doubled in ten years. The interest payment alone is $1 trillion a year. And the Fed just raised rates again. I will show you why this ends one way.
  • The Bond Market Verdict: The 10-year Treasury yield hit 5.24%. The 20-year hit 5.67%. That is not the market betting on growth. That is the market demanding a premium to hold American paper.
  • The Escape Hatch: Rome debased its currency. Britain borrowed its way out of two world wars. America is doing both simultaneously. There is a playbook for this. I have followed it for 50 years.
  • Larry Benedict - Oil Skimming: Larry Benedict just released a new presentation on a strategy called "Oil Skimming." It's worth a look. (Brownstone Research)

THE DEBT SPIRAL

Here is what the BBC reported on October 2nd, without a hint of panic in their voice:

"The rise reflects years of heavy spending under both the Trump and Biden administrations, along with higher interest payments that have steadily added to the total. In 2016, the national debt stood at just under $20tn."
-- BBC News, October 2, 2026

Forty trillion dollars. Doubled in ten years. And nobody in Washington is panicking. They are calling it "sustainable." They are calling it "manageable."

Here is what they are not telling you.

The government now pays over $1 trillion every year just in interest. Interest. Not roads. Not defense. Not schools. Just the cost of borrowing money they already spent. That $1 trillion is more than the entire defense budget three years ago.

And now the Congressional Budget Office says interest payments will reach $2.1 trillion per year by 2036. They project $16.2 trillion in interest over the next decade alone. Not debt. Interest on debt.

Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve just hiked rates to 3.75-4.00% on September 16. First hike since July 2023. The 10-year Treasury closed at 5.24% last Thursday. The 20-year sits at 5.67%. The 30-year at 5.63%. Higher rates mean higher borrowing costs. For a $40 trillion debt, every quarter-point hike adds billions.

They are running a $2 trillion deficit this year while paying $1 trillion in interest. Do the math. Half of what they borrow just covers the interest on what they already borrowed. This is not a budget problem. This is a debt spiral.

I have studied history. I know exactly what happens next. Before I show you the pattern, there is something important you need to see.

Man Who Called SpaceX Rise Says Elon's NEW Project is Even Bigger

THE PATTERN

Every empire in history has followed this same sequence. Spend beyond what you produce. Borrow to cover the gap. Dilute the currency to pay the debt. Repeat until the currency collapses.

Rome did it with lead coins. Britain did it with war bonds after 1945. The U.S. did it in the 1970s until Nixon closed the gold window in 1971. We are doing it again. Only this time, the debt is $40 trillion.

The bond market is sending a signal. When Treasury yields hit 5.24% on a 10-year note, the market is not celebrating strength. It is charging a risk premium. It is saying: "We do not fully trust you. Pay more."

My poor dad trusted the government. He believed in the paycheck, the pension, the plan. My rich dad trusted gold and real assets. He said: anything they can print more of, they will print more of.

You cannot print gold. You cannot print silver. You cannot print Bitcoin. Gold is at historic highs. Silver is following. Bitcoin is moving. That is not a coincidence. That is the market finding the exit.

$40 trillion in debt. $1 trillion in annual interest. Another rate hike coming in December. The only question is: what are you holding when the bill finally comes due?

Not paper. Never paper.

To your freedom,

Robert Kiyosaki
